Veralda Winery

Veralda winery is owned by the family Visintin of Verteneglio, Istria. The winery is named after the territory on which their stunning vineyards and wine estate lay. Their grapes are grown on the sunny hills of Buje. The soil is white and known for producing grand cru quality wines.

Luciano Visintin is an exciting new producer to Croatian Fine wines. Pushing the boundaries of modern wine making techniques, he’s focused on valorizing and respecting the unique characteristics of Istria's indigenous varietals of wine grapes and olives. His early achievements began in olive oil production, bringing early harvest to Istria. Within winemaking, he preserves the special characteristics of Malvasija and turned the tricky grape variety, Refosco, into a classy, easy-drinking wine for the international market....and a first for Croatia.

This year, we are pleased to announce Luciano Visintin and his family won the 2016 Decanter World Wine Platinum Award for the Best in Show - Red Single Varietal over £15, for their "Istrian 2015" wine - receiving 95 points. This is fantastic news for Istrian Wines and Croatian wine making in general.

All Veranda’s products are available exclusively online from Croatian Fine Wines Ltd.
